Shri Sridhara Swami Ashram, Varadahalli, Shimoga

Shri Shri Shri Sridhara Swami Ashram (Shrine) at Varadapura also known as Varadahalli is one of the holy and famous hill shrinelocated at the Sagara, Karnataka taluk, Shimoga District, India. This Shrine is 6  km from Sagara, 72  km from Shimoga, 352  km from Bangalore and 800  km fromMumbai.


Shri Shri Shridhar Swami who is believed to have divine powers and also preached Dharma to his devotees stayed at this place in his last few years which has now turned into most popular spiritual place in Sagara Taluk. Varadahalli is also called Varadamoola by few people and has small pool of water in which devotees take bath. There is a small water stream flowing down from mountain which has never drained out called as Shirdhara Teertha who is also considered as holy water. This Ashrama has Gowshale, Meditation room and Tomb of Shirdhar swami which is reached by climbing few steps on the mountain next to Matta. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is served daily for the devotees here.

Varadahalli is just 7 km from Sagara towards Ikkeri road and to reach the place start from Sagara private bus stand towards Shimoga and take left turn towards Ikkeri road before Ganapathi Kere and drive for 6 more kilometers to reach Varadahalli.

Transport

There are private buses from Sagara to Varadahalli on nominal price which has to be enquired at Sagara private bus stand. Private vehicles can reach the place easily as roads are well maintained. 
Lodging facility is available in the Ashrama itself for the devotees.

What to look for

Shridhara theertha which is a small stream of water flows down from mountain which has never drained out and is considered as holy water. People take bath in the water.
Shri Shri Shridhara swami Samadhi is on top of the hill which is amid of forest is beautiful location.
